For many years, when I was asked “What is your favorite scene in all Star Wars movies?” I mention this one from Episode III. The reasons are simple. Set against the scenes of an advanced city which is part of a galactic federation, we see two persons who make decisions that alter the course of their entire civilization. These scenes could have been set against many different kinds of backgrounds, but Lucas was brilliant in the scene backgrounds he chose here.
My thoughts crowded together in a span of a few seconds. I thought just how many such scenes have played out in this universe, throughout the endless quadrillions upon quadrillions of endless light years that make up perhaps only a quintillion of a fraction of a second of the space in which we exist. How many empires on worlds have come and gone in that time? How many planets have seen such empires and civilizations come and go? It would have to be in the trillions if not more.
There is no dialog by the characters we see. There was no need for it. The sun is setting low on the horizon, reflecting off the monumental structures as anti-gravitic craft speed along. There are majestic clouds on the horizon. The entire scene is bathed in a golden light. The scene is perhaps the most realistic of all the scenes in Star Wars. The imagery is pure, with nothing that one could say is “unrealistic”. I truly wonder how many worlds looked like this in ages past, and how many players on those stages sat in towers like those, looking out and finding themselves on the edge of decisions that would set the course of all they knew to be their world on a different course.
No matter how advanced the civilization, the emotions of life are going to play out. Life force is, in my view, the same everywhere. Life wants to persist and finds a way. And in this brief moment told to be a long time ago…in a galaxy far, far away…we imagine two lives playing out, and I have no doubt that over the next endless trillions of years ahead, it will continue to do so. And to top it off so that you all can really agree that I am bonkers…we will all be there to live it. Just like we were in the past.
Just like anything, nature does not know extinction. Life goes on, just like everything else. In different time and through different material form, but it goes on.

I was recently at the doctor’s and I had to pull rank when the influenza and covid vaxx discussion started. I told him point blank neither shot worked, and while the influenza shot was worthless, the covid shot was lethal to a select group via a variety of mechanisms. And I outlined said mechanisms. He was smart enough to ask “How I knew this to be true?” setting the stage for the whole ‘misinformation’ talk. I shut that down with (a) having a medical doctorate, having created a cancer immunotherapy on the resume, and being the guy who built his legacy electronic medical record system. We will agree to disagree.
My opinion is that if a doctor is not taking a full mRNA antivaxx stance he is probably far too stupid to be anything more than system-trained monkey and you need to find a new doc. Right now I have little choice, but it is what it is.

A Bill has been passed in the House which would block district courts from having nationwide injunctions and will instead limit them in their own district.
The Fifth Amendment provides that “no person shall be…deprived of life, liberty or property without due process of law.” What process is due depends on what liberty or property interest is at stake. In the context of illegal immigrants, they have no liberty interest in being illegally present in the country, nor any property interest in being illegally present in the country. Additionally, exhaustion of remedies principles requires the illegal follow due process to enter the nation before begging for it at the stage of removal from the nation. The Supreme Court admitted as much for more than a century.Entitling illegals to due process does not entitle them to anything more than Congress affords and the President provides.
The core Constitutional competence to govern immigration vests in the political branches — Congress and President — to represent and respect the will of the people in choosing immigration policy: “the right to exclude or expel aliens , or any class of aliens, absolutely or upon certain conditions, in war or in peace, is an inherent and inalienable right of every sovereign and independent nation; that the court of Congress to expel, like the power to exclude, aliens or any class of aliens from the country may be exercised entirely through executive officers.” Wong Wing v. United States (1896).
The Court rejected the claim of universal habeas relief noting: “That view, if sustained, would bring into the courts every case of an alien who claimed the right to come into the United states under some law or treaty, but was prevented from doing so by the executive branch of the government. This would defeat the manifest purpose of congress in committed to subordinate immigration officers.” Indeed, the court repeatedly ruled that immigration can be “enforced exclusively without judicial intervention.” Wong Wing v. United States (1896).
As the court made clear: “We regard it as settled by our previous decisions that the United States can, as a matter of public policy, by Congressional enactment, forbid aliens or classes of aliens from coming within their borders, and expel aliens or classes of aliens from their territory, and can, in order to make effectual such decree of exclusion or expulsion, devolve the power and duty of identifying and arresting the persons included in such decree, and causing their deportation, upon executive or subordinate officials.” In case any doubt lingered: “No limits can put by the courts upon the power of Congress to protect, by summary methods, the country from the advent of aliens whose habits render them undesirable as citizens, or to expel such if they have already found their way into our land and unlawfully remain therein.” Wong Wing v. United States (1896).
Of particular note: “The order of deportation is not punishment….It is but a method of enforcing the return to his own country of an alien who has not complied with the conditions upon the performance of which the government of the nation, acting within its constitutional authority and through the proper departments, has determined that his continuing to reside here shall depend. He has not therefore been deprived of life, liberty or property without due process of law.” Wong Wing v. United States (1896).
It is the Wong Wing case that established a due process right to illegal aliens, but it is that same case that made clear due process did not afford a judicial role when it concerned illegal aliens being deported by the laws authorized by Congress and the enforcement afforded the executive branch. This is because the only process due an illegal alien gang member is deportation itself.

But on a more serious note, the obesity rise is caused by 1 known and 1 unknown factor.
The known factor is that we denatured the food supply — e.g. lack of trace nutrients. To get the quota of nutrients, mammals then consume mass calories, and by extension one ends up with obesity. And that’s a farming problem. You have to rotate crops and leave some fallow. Plants may live on nitrogen alone, but we do not.
The unknown factor is that some of the obese have ‘vampiric fat’. It’s crazy, but the fat resists being utilized even on low calorie diets. In these cases you literally have to drop calories to zero to force the fat into ketosis. I think it was a midWestern med school that did the definitive study on the latter. I am leaning towards some kind of viral insult that changed the cell’s receptor surface, rendering the fat insensitive to physiologic signals.
