As we go to press, the digital asset world is continuing to be volatile as Bitcoin continues to consolidate between 112,000 and 120,000. But the truly interesting news is that Altcoins are most likely prepping for historic increases in value. We will review some reasons for this.
The Fed cut rates this week. More cuts are coming over the next 6 to 12 months.
And rate cuts mean liquidity. They mean more dollars in the system looking for a home. Stocks benefit. Real estate benefits. But so do riskier, high-beta corners of the market. And that means altcoins.
Every prior Altcoin Season has coincided with increases in liquidity. This one is setting up no differently.
Next, Capitol Hill is cooking up some catalysts of its own.
The GENIUS Act, a bill designed to modernize U.S. financial infrastructure by explicitly recognizing and integrating digital assets into the mainstream system is still in motion. A legal framework for tokenization, stablecoin payments, and blockchain settlement rails will give legitimacy to what has so far been digital terra incognita.
Then there’s the CLARITY Act. If passed, it would finally draw a bright line between securities, commodities, and payment tokens, freeing up companies and developers to innovate without fearing retroactive enforcement. Crypto’s biggest problem in the U.S. hasn’t been lack of demand, but instead, regulatory uncertainty.
These two bills would eliminate the regulatory fear factor from crypto and instead shift it into being one of its biggest growth catalysts. From this, altcoins—especially those tied to tokenization and stablecoins—stand to benefit most.
Bitcoin always has gone first, leading the way with rallies and headlines, while attracting mainstream capital. Then it consolidates and trades sideways. Then, while Bitcoin rests, altcoins run with added liquidity often delivering the asymmetric gains that keep everyone spellbound.
This is a typical pattern. Bitcoin has already shot higher in the first half of the year, drew in institutions, and established itself as a macro asset on par with gold. Now it’s resting in a channel, continuing to consolidate. And now altcoins are starting to percolate.
Altcoin season is now in form, but continue to expect continued volatility in the process. As always, place only risk capital in the market, and buy on dips. Do not chase higher prices.
We take time to assist with crypto because so many of you had pinned hopes to Dinars and Dongs. Both of which continue to be sold to millions as pending gushers of easy speculative wealth.
The high cockalorums who continue to ply their flocks with a vision of future wealth using all manner of verbal bedizenment, are now entering their 20th year of such promises. Virtually all of them have no credentials or experience in international finance, but many possess criminal records and have mediocre career histories.
They found a large, ready-made audience to plop their circus tents within, and, true to form, they are selling all manner of wares to them while continuing to claim that “it’s imminent”.
Meanwhile, the true wealth has been/is being made in real-world efforts to build the modern rails of digital industry and commerce in ways that allow common people the ability to participate with pocket change, and potentially reach new levels of economic status.
