Briefing #227

what is the truth? are re-sets and world salvation truly coming?

Greetings!

With half the year of 2026 behind us, we watch with fascination as the social structures and economic systems of the past clash with the rapid implementation of technical automation of the future. From the transportation systems to the economic rails of monetary transfer and every key sector of society, the shock of it is ongoing.

The need for human labor is being slowly replaced by both mechanical and cybernetic automation.

Even the DOGE efforts in the Federal Government to identify and eliminate waste caused many thousands of jobs to disappear.

You’ll need to adjust or be adjusted.

And then there the ongoing claims that trillions of dollars of wealth are soon to be unleashed through myriad of administrated channels to assist the truly needy, among other things.

Just what is the truth? Why are so many being led to believe such?

We will leave it to the passage of time to answer such a question. We will start with real-world progress of which we all can see, sense and watch.

The fundamentals for the next crypto boom are strengthening, but timing is constrained by halving dynamics, a hostile macro environment, and legislative uncertainty.

The advice remains to stay patient and liquid, waiting for green lights.

Recently, an important legislative change occurred. The CLARITY Act passed the Senate Banking Committee with a bipartisan 15-9 vote. This is the most significant regulatory development for the crypto industry since the GENIUS Act was enacted last year. The outlook for the Fifth Boom Cycle has improved considerably.

And yet — Bitcoin couldn’t maintain $82,000. It briefly surged on the news, hit the 200-day moving average like a wall, and lost most of its gains within 48 hours. The halving dead zone and macro trends are still in control.

Both factors are true at the same time, and grasping this is key to the current investment thesis.

The investment community reacted quickly. Prediction market odds for the CLARITY Act passing in 2026 rose from 42% to 70%. Coinbase increased by 9%, MicroStrategy by 8%, and Robinhood by 6%. These are significant changes. The market adjusted the likelihood of a viable US regulatory framework for crypto significantly in just one session.

What does the CLARITY Act do when passed? It creates a federal framework that provides crypto companies the legal clarity to operate without arbitrary regulatory enforcement, clearly delineates SEC and CFTC jurisdictions, and establishes custody standards for insurance companies, endowments, and pension funds. Essentially, it transforms crypto from a gray market into a legitimate asset class, attracting significant institutional capital that has been waiting for this approval.

Some may wonder why the recent downward price volatility? Some careful review of current macro environment will give the best answer. Treasury yields are at their highest levels in 20 years. Iran hysteria continues to hold oil prices higher than usual. Warsh is facing a Fed committee that is resistant to lowering rates. Long term assets like crypto will most certainly not find an easy road higher with Treasury yields at such multi-decade highs.

Further, program traded call options continue to trigger at $80K and higher as hedged positions cover their exposure.

It is most likely that until CLARITY arrives fully passed, and macro environments ease, the fresh money will not enter to ignite the next boom cycle. But it’s only a matter of time. Nothing will stop CLARITY from eventual passage. The preparations for a post-CLARITY world are continuing at a very rapid rate, with historical rates of progress. The Falcon has indeed heard the Falconer.

But until then, we will be locked in the current lackluster phase. We may see even lower prices and reach a post-halving cycle lower sometime in Q4 into Q1 2027.

When the boom cycle starts, the CLARITY Act will have established a federal regulatory framework for crypto as a legitimate institutional asset class.

  • The 401(k) rule will open a $14 trillion retirement savings market to crypto. Bitcoin-backed mortgages will normalize crypto as collateral, while tokenized money-market funds will approach $100 billion in AUM.
  • JPMorgan, Citi, and HSBC will integrate crypto settlement into global banking systems. Major firms like Schwab, Goldman Sachs, and Morgan Stanley will offer direct Bitcoin exposure to millions of clients.
  • Stablecoin payment flows will target Bloomberg Intelligence’s $50 trillion projection, and AI agents will use stablecoins for machine-to-machine transactions at scale.

Q.E.D. – the demand base for the next cycle is fundamentally different, not just varied in amount. And this brings to mind another difference in the underpinnings of this current market. Prop trading firms are wielding more power over BTC prices. Prop firms trade their own funds, not client money. This is not good news if you are a retail trader given to Kamikaze risk taking. To avoid being a prop chop, simply keep to the long-term strategy. Hold through the volatility.

The key level to watch is $96,000 — the 50-week moving average that signals the start of a Bitcoin boom. If that level is broken with a consistent weekly close, it will indicate a strong buying opportunity. With the current institutional setup, the reaction to this signal could be different from previous cycles.

So, if right for your circumstances, continue to add to positions on price retracements, or accumulate your cash on the side if you can’t hack the volatility, and wait for the c$96,000 price level to be consistently surpassed as a good signal for entry. Resist being a FOMO-Sexual. Do not chase higher prices.

The factors for the next boom cycle will be the most significant and sound of all previous ones.

Be ready.

Contrary to the daily disinformation diatribe issued daily by [Trump], who’s done everything but Make America great again, one real world operated by consummate career Professions, actual core nations of standing are uniting, and forming Alliances with hemisphere consequences.

China, Russia, South Korea and Iran have formed a High Tech Chip and Capacitor Alliance which by 2030 wil achieve Global Leadership and Global Dependencies.

Iran has already exited Washington’s grasp.

We are already contemplating using Gold as the safe community backing for a BRICS inspired currency and coin state. But also a Hemisphere Universal Income removing Fiat Claws and Zionist hooks.

Circumcision with applied vision.

The Mid-terms will wake up the Beast as power goes East and the Grifter goes West.

Iran will determine its own future if [Trump] attacks. Armageddon removes Israel and all US bases in the Gulf, Flatlining nations as a risk.

Iran ignores the bleating and real dialog is changing the New World

Lack of releases is far from lack of action. We leave meaningless False diatribe to [Trump].

Energy prices up. Wars everywhere.

Food prices up. Home repossessions starting. Bases hit. Lives lost and no Iran will not give up its Nuclear rights.

Iran is lost. Iran won.

US leadership failing facing. MID TERM SWITCHES now it’s only how many.

Empires end.

The Oath of Allegiance needs to go and with it treacherous Zionist Ho.

Forget Saving Private Ryan, save America.

Look at Kushner and the Insider Trading Sons plus conspiring Elites self-enriching.

Real changes are coming.

Empires end badly.

Over the last several months, there has been a significant uptick in “intel” from the so-called “currency and bond community”.

Med beds and huge funds are said to be moving into position for deployment.

RVs and bond redemptions galore are coming, it is claimed. NESARA/GESARA! A huge transfer of wealth to save humanity!

An army of monetized “intel providers” claim it is. And while waiting, some direct your attention to products for sale! Mushroom gummies, bath bombs, stem-cell generators, healing sessions, channelings, etc.

We watch with fascination, wondering where it all comes from.

Just what is truth? It’s simply what is agreed to be such. And depending on who you ask, you will find the “truth” you are looking for.

If there is anything to such claims, it will eventually play out…or not. And it will either be as many have claimed, or not anything like it at all. Then, you will have the truth.

It is highly doubtful that the ultimate valid creators of any such plans would purposely leak the details to only monetized product channels.

That would be really tacky.

Whatever the powers in the shadows are working on, the only way we will truly know the exact form of any of it, is when it appears – if it ever does.

They wait…

  1. A picture is worth a thousand words. The AI price-point cannot be set at twice the cost of the human because the in-process advantage to the underlying business concern has to be, except for edge cases, between 10% and 30%. And of course, Anthropic upscaled the price to 30x-50x baseline intro price. It ain’t flying folks… Even I, as an efficient AI user, blew threw my monthly allotment in under 5 hours…

  2. I’ve inquired as to source, but this landed in my inbox from a friend. It’s not unique. There is quite a growing bubbling out of sight of the MSM.

    ***BEGIN***

Following on from my article about the jewish serial fraudster and self-confessed murder Eric Robic; (1) I thought I would also look at his friend and fellow fraudster Arnaud Mimran.

Mimran is interesting in large part of the scale of his fraudulent activity – defrauding French men, women and businesses out of over a billion dollars/euros – but also his links to the rabbinate in France as well as the Israeli political establishment.

For example, the ‘Times of Israel’ gave the following rundown of Mimran’s activities after his high-profile conviction for fraud in July 2016:

‘French Jewish businessman Arnaud Mimran on Thursday was convicted of fraud and sentenced to eight years in prison.

A French court ruled that Mimran — who has in the past given donations to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu — and his associate Marco Mouly were guilty of stealing €283 million. It imposed a €1 million fine for immediate reimbursement, and ultimately required the two, along with a Polish broker, to pay back the state the €283 million.

    […]

Mimran was one of the main defendants in the trial in Paris over a scam amounting to €283 million involving the trade of carbon emissions permits and the taxes on them.

Mimran, who was convicted of tax offenses in France in the late 1990s, was convicted of using front companies to collect sales tax returns from France on carbon emissions permits that he bought from countries that did not collect the tax on them, like the Netherlands.

Known as the carbon emissions scam, it is believed to have caused billions in damages in 2009 by fraudulently exploiting the differences in how industrialized nations encouraged reducing the emission of greenhouse gases.

The fraud was called the biggest scam in the EU’s history, and also managed to embroil Netanyahu after Mimran testified to giving Netanyahu €1 million in 2009, when he was running for prime minister, to fund his election campaign.

Netanyahu denied that account, asserting that the contribution was made in 2001, amounted to the much smaller sum of $40,000 and funded public diplomacy efforts rather than a personal campaign.

Israeli law limits individual campaign contributions to NIS 11,480 (€2,670).

On Tuesday, Netanyahu dismissed as “nonsense” a Channel 2 report from a day earlier that police were investigating him over campaign contributions from abroad.

A Justice Ministry spokeswoman said in June that Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit had ordered an examination of Mimran’s testimony “immediately after he became aware of it.”

The statute of limitations for such crimes in Israel is 10 years, effectively ruling out criminal prosecution.

In a statement on June 5, the Prime Minister’s Office accused Mimran of committing further fraud by making a false claim about Netanyahu.

“Mr. Mimran, who is on trial for fraud in the range of several hundreds of millions of dollars, is trying to divert attention by means of another fraud,” the statement read.

Last month, Mimran revised his account of his donations to Netanyahu in the last decade, saying that the prime minister had the numbers right and he had been wrong.

“Everything that Bibi says is true,” Mimran told Channel 2, a day after he rejected Netanyahu’s claim that he had been given a far lower sum by the French businessman. “It’s possible that I got the numbers wrong because it’s been more than 10 years.”

“It was a long time ago, so it’s possible I made a mistake with the sum,” Mimran told Channel 2. “In any event, there was nothing illegal on Bibi’s part. I transferred a sum to him and invited him to vacations in Monaco and a ski resort in the French Alps.”

In 2000, Mimran was investigated on suspicion of insider trading in the United States and agreed, together with his partners, to pay a fine of $1.2 million, Haaretz reported.’ (2)

Mimran is the kind of serial jewish conman who – like his ethnic confreres Eliyahu Weinstein, (3) Joe Lewis (4) and Seth Levine (5) among hundreds upon hundreds of other examples – steals as much as he can from the goyim before doing a bunk with the cash for the relative safety and racially-based protection of the jewish state. This is reinforced by the fact that Mimran was a political donor to Benjamin Netanyahu – perhaps unsurprisingly given Netanyahu’s perennial problem with corruption for which he has been being investigated for over a decade at this point – and appears to have at least some contact with the Israeli state which would in turn make Israel unlikely to hand him over to non-jewish states to face justice.

Well… unless Mimran screwed the Israeli state over which doesn’t appear to have ever been the case. Indeed Mimran has openly worked primarily with other jews like Eric Robic and Fabrice Touil as well the chief prison rabbi of the Ile-de-France region (Paris and its environs for those who don’t know French geography) Avraham Chelly in order to perpetrate his cons as we learn from an update on fresh charges for Mimran – published by the ‘Times of Israel’ on 27th March 2018 – where we read as follows:

‘Seven men, including a Jewish chaplain, two Jewish inmates, a director and a supervisor at one of France’s biggest prisons, were detained Monday on suspicion of corruption, sources close to the investigation told AFP.

The director and supervisor employed by the Fresnes jail, in the suburbs of Paris, are suspected of having received bribes from inmates in exchange for preferential treatment. Nearly 280,000 euros were allegedly found during searches of the prison and of their homes on Monday.

The inmates suspected as the bribe-givers were understood to be Arnaud Mimran and Eric Robic.

    […]

A third man, Fabrice Touil, a dual French-Israeli citizen also suspected of involvement in the carbon emissions scam, was arrested at his home in Paris on suspicion of having been the middleman who passed the money from the prisoners to the officials.

Investigators are reportedly trying to understand what role was played by Avraham Philippe Chelly, who serves as the Jewish chaplain for the Ile de France region.

In December 2016, two prison supervisors were questioned on suspicion of having provided cellphones, food and alcohol to prisoners in exchange for payment.’ (6)

Put another way: Mimran is a jewish conman who primarily works with other jews to defraud jews out of their money, has stolen billions of dollars/euros at this point and also views Israel – and not France for any other non-jewish country – as his true home.

And jews wonder why non-jews historically launched pogroms against them.

  4. In Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged, one of the antagonists in a government meeting suggests putting to death everyone over the age of 50 to “… guarantee the survival of the rest.” It is also, given context in book and page, a deliberate efficiency measure — for the despots — who can’t manage the situation. Ayn Rand made them banally evil — as in many ways, this reflects reality. She was, in mindset, quite innocent and did not grasp the horror of something as deliberate as ‘Agenda 2030’.

In a terrible echo of Atlas Shrugged, this hit the intertubes

SHOCKING: Study Models How NON-VOLUNTARY Euthanasia Could Save Canada Over $1 Trillion. This isn’t dystopian fiction: an academic study is calculating how much money could be saved through euthanasia scenarios involving people who never chose death themselves.

    1. Since Gemini can’t search a novel with success I used a bootleg PDF copy and the Adobe search function.

This is the original Atlas Shrugged quote I was referring to:

Dr. Floyd Ferris, next day, did not seem to be scared—but it was worse, thought Mr. Thompson. He observed that Galt remained silent and would not answer Ferris at all.

“It’s the question of moral responsibility that you might not have studied sufficiently, Mr. Galt,” Dr. Ferris was drawling in too airy, too forced a tone of casual informality. “You seem to have talked on the radio about nothing but sins of commission. But there are also the sins of omission to consider. To fail to save a Me is as immoral as to murder. The consequences are the same—and since we must judge actions by their consequences, the moral responsibility is the same. . . .

For instance, in view of the desperate shortage of food, it has been suggested that it might become necessary to issue a directive ordering that every third one of all children under the age of ten and of all adults over the age of sixty be put to death, to secure the survival of the rest. You wouldn’t want this to happen, would you?

You can prevent it. One word from you would prevent it. If you refuse and all those people are executed—it will be your fault and your moral responsibility!

Note the emotional blackmail pattern, which is used as justification even today across a spectrum of human activity.

      Galt’s answer is englightening:

“You’re crazy!” screamed Mr. Thompson, recovering from shock and leaping to his feet.

“Nobody’s ever suggested any such thing! Nobody’s ever considered it! Please, Mr. Galt! Don’t believe him! He doesn’t mean it!”

Oh yes, he does,” said Galt. “Tell the bastard to look at me, then look in the mirror, then ask himself whether I would ever think that my moral stature is at the mercy of his actions.”

“Get out of here!” cried Mr. Thompson, yanking Ferris to his feet.

  5. Great report and very timely! Right before big discounts in crypto. Buying lightly downward. The cost averages on the way back up will be great especially at the 96K MA.

Very good words on the reset topic. We have been following the recent talk on resets RVs NESARA and all that. We did notice this Wolverine guy from Australia last week said his information on bond whales in Zurich being paid was 1000% confirmed and then all the people on the street would be notified to come to the banks to exchange. Now tonight the same idiot crawls back his claim and says he will wait until funds are in his account then will confirm. He has been at this for years and amazing that people follow him like he is Christ.

Speaking of. Love the picture of Pilate and Christ. What is truth!? That moment in time certainly asks this question yes?!

I agree that it is hard to understand where all this reset and RV information is coming from. What is the purpose? I can only think it is being originated by the sellers of the paper. They need a pending victory payday to give value to the paper so they can sell it. Otherwise it is just ornamental wallpaper. What do you think?

Anyway thanks again for the report. At least we know John’s elder efforts are genuine and if they have not proceeded then it’s pretty hard to understand how claims of Zurich whales and all that would be. It has always been claimed that ancient gold supplies would be backing such paper in order to make it valuable, but even now I think those claims are being shown to be false but stem from valid processes that have leaked and turned into exaggerated tales. With no value given from external bailouts what country has such funds to pay these old bonds out? All these countries are flat broke and in debt to Jews!

I did receive your e-mail and will make contact with the Reno person on Thursday and will let you know. I agree a face to face is needed and I have your letter of introduction. Please let me get back to you on that.

    Thanks again! C

    2. Good work. Just let time and pressure do the rest. Patience is the most valuable commodity in this business. Panic selling and price chasing is for amateurs.

I understand about the Wolverine guy. That kind of thing has been going on for decades.

The best understanding I have arrived at based on my many conversations and inquiries with solid and involved parties, is that indeed there are plans to maneuver large financial resources into designated entities and persons of whatever rank and status is planned. John’s project is one such example. Very large. Top tier stuff. There are no doubt others across the world.

I think that the reason for so many different RV “gurus” out there is that they are feeding on leaks, and those leaks transform via the 100th monkey process to become something totally unrecognizable from the original.

I have been told, point blank, by legitimate transaction principals that they are astonished at the assumed “facts” they are asked to verify. They are truly baffled by claims made by others that are complete nonsense. Outlandish lies and falsehoods that stagger.

When the true projects out there commence…when they proceed to do what is intended, then and only then will we know the form and substance of it all.

So many try to sell others on the idea that their information is all there is to know. One example is Mike Cottrell. He claims that no “releases” will happen until “they” come to his residence and he inputs codes to allow gold backing of the USD via a “gold treaty” of which he is a “signatory”. Is it so? Hell if I know. Nor do I care. I doubt it, but he may be involved in something at some level, but he’s not the only point that world finance depends on to save the planet. But he’s a valuable commodity on the guru talk show circuit to establish an air of “credibility” for audience building.

Gold backing of the USD, to me, is folly. I don’t mind that it’s convertible to gold via a bank, but who in the hell will want to go shopping with gold coins? The problem with money is not what backs it, but how much is produced that exceeds a nation’s economic output. That causes inflation and deficit spending. For every dollar’s worth of goods and services produced you issue a bill called a dollar to circulate. That keeps the supply limited (like BTC) and its value strong. It’s backed by real production. Real assets. Real demand.

There are so many stories out there. I could write for hours about all the people I have spoken to, listened to, avoided, sought out, inquired with…just to get to some fraction of an understanding of all this “release” “settlement” “RV” “re-funding” business. I think I have it figured out as well as I need to know, and have positioned to satisfy my own little corner of the universe to prep it for whatever in the way of legitimate results come my way. The rest I leave to those who occupy positions way, way over mine. This site is the result of simply making calls and reaching out. Communication is the universal solvent.

And so, there are those in legitimate positions who will hopefully proceed to do a good job and make a beneficial outcome a reality for nations. And there are those who constructed a network of altered, twisted, inaccurate, embellished news which so many people are using to attract huge audiences for often times personal gain. In their world, it’s always “a week away”. Otherwise, nobody would want to be told “sorry…it’s not public pal, go away”. You can’t sell potions and products to people in that way.

Lastly, thanks for helping with the Reno message. I always try to get to the most senior of persons in any area I am interested in finding out the truth of. Call me to discuss and we will keep the details off the site. I wanted to openly acknowledge your assistance. I also have details for you which you won’t get from this party. Plans within plans.

  10. Red and I binged Spider-Noir, which is a Spiderman reframe as film noir tale in 8 episodes. The acting is good, Nicolas Cage handles the role, and while the plot twists are minor, the Asian femme fatale is acceptable but not stellar. Really Amazon? Couldn’t we have shaked-n-baked a few extra shekels to get something hotter?

Overall, Spider-Noir clocks in as a low 8 with some good moments and some good humor around ageing.

We turn you over to the Dark Herald for a comprehensive review:

The Dark Herald Recommends – Spider Noir

    The Dark Herald

    Jun 02, 2026

    You. Can. NOT. Fix. Her.

That is the first thing you have to know about the noir femme fatale.

Sure when she’s looking at you with eyes full of tears it all“Tell me I can be saved.” Or “Tell me I’m not all bad.”

But that’s what she wants from the mark, and if the dame to die for is a proper femme fatale, there’s an element of truth to it. But never forget, she wants the mark to feel that. And you, the audience member, are the markYou know she’s trouble but you’re still too intrigued to say no. That’s why she still works whether she’s sauntering into Phillip Marlowe’s office with an eye full of crocodile tears or Harry Dreden’s.

If the storyteller is doing her right, she’s not the secret feminist hero, or a psychopathic super villain, and she is definitely not the real victim. What she is, is human but one who uses all of her assets to get whatever she wants. She’s a calculator who enjoys the game she’s playing. The Lady in a Red Dress is an apex predator who happens to be beautiful, charming, and self-aware enough to weaponize it all. She operates in that narrow psychological band where the dark triad traits (especially Machiavellianism and a high dose of psychopathy) give her the ruthlessness to scheme, seduce, betray, and if needed, to kill without remorse… But she retains just enough of her humanity… Her affective empathy and ego to crave absolution. Forgiveness without accountability is the ideal outcome for her.

So, when Cat Hardy tells the gumshoe she’s played for a sap at the end of Spider Noir, “I want you to know in another time and another place, things could have been different between us,” She means it, but she also has an ulterior motive for saying it because she always has an ulterior motive for everything.

And Ben Reilly sees right through it, “It’s one thing to play a guy for chump. It’s another to try and keep him on the hook afterward.” Because that is exactly what she wanted; forgiveness, but more importantly, no consequences.

Spider Noir knows what it’s trying to be. There are compromises imposed by a number of small things and I won’t dismiss or ignore them, But the important thing is, it succeeds in what it’s attempting.

Spider Noir works because it understands noir. The old mobster, the sarcastic secretary, and the Femme Fatale prove it.

Sony hasn’t had the best track record with Spider-man spin-offs for every success like Into the Spiderverse there three failures like Madam Web. But I guess they were over due for another win because Spider Noir is a good show. It’s not a great show or revolutionary one. It’s not at all ground breaking but it didn’t have to be to succeed.

This is how far we’ve fallen. Baseline competence is extraordinary enough to be entertaining.

This isn’t a Spiderman show, it’s a film-noir detective show with some spiderman elements, unlike Madam Web for an outstanding example, there are enough Spider Man elements that it’s recognizable as a Spider Man property.

Spider Man Noir was one of the last creations of a fully independent Marvel, the first issue came out in 2008. It was a lot more gritty than most people would think because most people never read it. They first became familiar with him in Into the Spider-verse, a much more comical take on the character but he was voiced by Nicholas Cage and Nick took a shine to him. Cage had tried to play Harry Dresden years ago but the project completely fell apart, I think this super powered noir detective scratched an old itch for him.

And let’s be clear, this character, Ben Reilly, is a lot closer to Phillip Marlowe than he is Peter Parker. Don’t get me wrong. The bones of Peter Parker are still there, but this is a Peter who survived the trenches, buried friends, and spent a decade watching the city rot around him. A Peter who had friends betray him. He lost the woman he loved and there was no MJ hanging around to pick up the pieces.

This story has all the elements of Film Noir, if Ben didn’t have Spider powers, the narrative could still mostly function.

However, the production itself is not classic Hollywood noir. First, you are offered two ways watch it, monochrome and stone wash. Go with the Black and White if you decide to see this, it sets the tone properly in a way the colorized version fails to. But keep in mind it’s not a genuine black and white production, it’s a lot closer to Sin City.

This movie was clearly shot on a volume stage, the blocking of the actors gives it away every time. They are usually either standing or sitting. If they are running it’s for very, very short distances.

This claustrophobia kills something like Obi-Wan where it’s supposed to be all about the action but Film Noir has always thrived in confined spaces. Offices and Ally ways. Newspaper rooms and night clubs. The physical restriction is part of the production value. It creates focus, and it’s used effectively here.

That said, it’s not all good. The first time you see Nick Cage run down an ally you know without question you’re seeing a man in his sixties running. He is simply too old for the part, sad but true.

And while the confinement helps the story, in the back of my mind I kept thinking, I know this was shot on a Volume stage.

A badly wounded detective is kind of a standard trope. His fiancee was a Gwen Stacy-esque character. She was murdered by having her wrist hand cuffed to a steering wheel and driven off a peer. And the problem is that he’s right there and realistically given his power level is going to able to rescue her. In the back of your mind you keep asking, Okay, why did you let her drown – just so your trauma will happen?

The show asks us to believe a tragedy that Spider-Man should have been able to prevent.

Which is ultimately the early setup of the show. Ben is a hero who is refusing the call because he’s a wounded hero. That’s what the show wants and it’s valid for a noir detective but in improving the Death of Gwen, they create a character that I don’t quite believe in.

Sidenote: Gwen is alive in the Spider Man Noir comic book continuity, and Spider Man is named Peter Parker. My guess is that Disney strongly requested the Peter Parker name not be used for whatever odd Disney reason.

One thing that I did really like about this season is that the story actually had a conclusion. It’s been a while since I’ve seen that in a TV show. Normally, they end in a cliffhanger and these days cliffhangers suck. Audiences are sick of them.

It takes three years between seasons, so the momentum is completely gone and half the time the show gets canceled. The other half of the time the writers sweep it under the rug by answering with a mystery box or just hand wave it away. Remember when Sherlock jumped off a building for no reason at the end of season 2 and the start of season 3 the show made fun of the fan theories for a half hour before refusing to answer at all.

Spider Noir has an actual ending and it’s reasonably satisfying.

You do get an answer to the mystery which is never a guarantee in Film Noir because the investigation is what’s important.

Spider Noir is a pleasant surprise in Sony’s spotty history of Spider-Man spin-offs, a show that knows exactly what it wants to be and largely delivers on it. By leaning into film noir conventions rather than superhero spectacle, it carves out a distinct identity, and the choice to watch in black and white is the right one. Nicolas Cage brings a world-weary Philip Marlowe energy to Ben Reilly that mostly works, even if his age occasionally breaks the illusion during the show’s more physical moments.

The production has real limitations. The volume stage shooting is visible to any attentive viewer, the blocking is stiff, and the backstory surrounding the death of Ben’s fiancée strains credibility given his power set. But noir has always thrived in confined spaces and moral ambiguity, and the show uses both to its advantage. The femme fatale in particular is handled with genuine sophistication, Cat Hardy is neither a secret hero nor a cartoon villain, but a fully realized predator who wants forgiveness without consequences, and the show is sharp enough to call her on it.

In an age of mystery boxes, multiverses, and cliffhangers, Spider-Noir does something almost revolutionary: it tells a story, solves the mystery, and rolls the credits as the detective walks off into the night..

  18. Midwittery. A new word, a new plague. (Part 1)

TL;DR — Midwittery. It plagues the land. Y’all don’t realize how good we have it here at White Hat Auxiliaries.

    Gemini gave a good rundown:

A “midwit” is someone of average or slightly above-average intelligence who overestimates their own intellect, often adopting mainstream, conventional, or pseudointellectual viewpoints while dismissing simpler truths. The term was popularized online but originated from the essay “The Tragedy of the Mid-Witted” written by author and activist Vox Day (Theodore Beale) in 2012.

    Key Characteristics

In Vox Day’s framework, and the internet culture it spawned, a midwit has specific traits:

    • Conformity Masquerading as Brilliance: Midwits blindly follow mainstream or institutional narratives while believing their views are highly independent and nuanced.
    • Dismissal of Common Sense: They often overlook basic, intuitive realities in favor of overly complex or pseudo-sophisticated analyses.
    • Overconfidence: They view themselves as highly intellectual but fail to grasp the limits of their own knowledge.

    Cultural Impact: The Midwit Meme

Vox Day’s concept later evolved into the popular “Midwit” internet meme (based on an intelligence bell curve). The meme generally illustrates that the extremely intelligent and the very simple often arrive at the same basic, correct conclusion, while the “midwit” in the middle of the spectrum holds the most convoluted and incorrect opinion.

In a chat regarding mRNA vaxxing, I referenced a few folk, like McCullough, Kirsch and Dowd, as aggregated reference. In context, I was replying to the assertion mRNA vaxx was a great thing and that Katalin Karikó, alongside her collaborator Drew Weissman, won the Nobel Prize for making mRNA vaccines possible.

I ruined the midwit-fest by pointing out that the tech doesn’t work.

In fairness to Karikó, for test tube molecular work, and even for industrial creation of antigen, non-degradable mRNA was an advance. Was it worthy of a Nobel? Probably not. It was several orders of magnitude easier than ideating the polymerase chain reaction for which Kari Mullis won his Nobel. (Then again, the Nobel has declined massively in its standards.) The long and short of the Karikó Nobel award is for substituting pseudo-uridine for uridine, with the consequence the pseudo-mRNA doesn’t degrade because there’s no enzyme to chop it up that doesn’t choke on the pseudo-uridine.

As a curious aside, I learned about pseudo-uridine, mRNA/DNA vaxxes, in a lecture at BU Med School in the 1984-1985 timeframe. Apparently the tech was invented in 1990… accidental trans-temporal shift, did I sit in a lecture that wouldn’t happen for 6-8 years? More likely is BU had the exact same research program somewhere and brought some researcher in to give us a lecture. We had a lot of that kind of off-the-wall lecture.

If one judges an event by its consequences, mRNA vaxx was a disaster of extraordinary proportions. It enabled the pandemic and now all sorts of tom-foolery. The latter is mostly a legal and regulatory problem. Bad therapeutics are being foisted on us. Toss in Agenda 2030+ and one wonders if the Nobel was awarded as imprimatur to give the crap validity. Nothing, and I repeat nothing, about mRNA therapeutics is ready for prime time.

    I digress.

I was then subjected to every non-sequitur imaginable. That the pandemic killed millions. That the vaxx saved us. Misinformation spreader! The mRNA vaxx passed all regulatory hurdles. 95% efficacy! mRNA is neutralized!

At first I took the response(s) seriously but as it progressed I realized the level of midwits I was dealing with and walked away. I left them one clean threaded response with plenty of links for the odd midwit or two that might learn something.

But I learned several important things:

    • Narrative — the average midwit is lost in surface-level, sound-good, narrative. The narrative is all, and it is harsh cognitive dissonance for them to be confronted. The narrative is a close analogue to religion in behavior and function. In part 2 I describe how narrative is the main reason medicine is not advancing. Which has deep general implications.
    • Dogmatism — OMDFG! “Citation please.” Without even a question mark! Not like one couldn’t trivially find McCullough, Kirsch, Dowd, Ionnidis or for that matter the Kaiser and Cleveland Clinic studies relevant to the topic via Google.
    • No real depth — They’re midwits! Not one of them actually knows what they discuss. Example: “Low powered study!” Oh really… Well… how many standard deviations off the control mean is the experimental group? Assume a bell curve for a first cut. Assume we have the number of patients. Take the square root of the variance, compare the standard deviation to mean of both groups. Crickets…
    • No common-sense — You’ve heard my lecture on when you do, or don’t, need a double-blind randomized study. E.g. If autism reverts naturally at a 10% per 10 yr interval, but I reverse 1in3 at 8 weeks across 2400 kids — do I need a goddam double-blind? No.
    • Appeal to authority — While correctly identifying Appeal to Authority as a logical fallacy, Appeal to Experience is Bayesian. It is highly appropriate, if one was CMO of an immunotherapy company (I was), to maybe take my comments at a minimum as data for further thought. Don’t teach Grandma to suck an egg!
    • Effort — For some reason, midwits exist in a no-effort effort-avoidant mindset. While it is true that the burden of proof is on those making a claim, you still have to think and sometimes do some heavy lifting. Be active, not passive. Hell, read a little outside the mainstream! (*)
    • Lastly, a very obvious fact is these folks have never survived in a hierarchy except at the bottom. They are almost all delta and the militant ones, gamma. If you aren’t familiar with the Socio-Sexual Hierarchy I’ll provide a link later. It’s very predictive and descriptive of male group dynamics.

I will wrap up with the moment of comedy. One comment was “Since the idea of antigen from an mRNA vaccine seems to exceed your grasp, perhaps you shouldn’t be commenting here.” or very close to that. 🤣🤣🤣🤣😎 That’s the 30-IQ point communications gap rearing its ugly head.

    More later.

(*) And sometimes, for Christ’s Sake, would it kill to go read a fundamental reference? Both Feynman and Turing wrote doctoral theses. Both are slogs. In context of when they were written they were mind-numbingly novel. Feynman’s approach to quantum mechanics is a magnificent application of the principle of least action. Both are object lessons in how to apply principle to practice.

The entire project took 580 days to complete. Engineers faced extreme conditions, with temperatures exceeding 200°C at the bottom of the well. The drilling also uncovered ancient rock formations more than 500 million years old, providing valuable geological insights.

This is a major scientific and engineering achievement by China National Petroleum Corporation. While the viral post rounds the numbers slightly for dramatic effect, the core facts are accurate. It is currently Asia’s deepest vertical well and one of the most impressive ultra-deep drilling operations in recent history.
